NEW YORK (Yahoo) - St. Lunatics founding member Ali is set to release his debut solo album, Heavy Starch, on April 9. Ali first appeared on Nelly's eight-times-platinum Country Grammar album, and he also appears on the St. Lunatic's platinum-certified Free City.

Ali, who founded the St. Lunatics, recently shared some of the lyrics to Nelly's early forays in the world of rap.         "I know Nelly was always a parody-type person. Always, 'I'm Nelly Nell right now/I came to make you get down,' you know what I'm sayin'? He always singing them type of 'I Need Love.' He used to say, 'When I'm alone in my room trying to stare at the wall/I look in the back of my mind, it read, 'Your head is bald.'' He always had, like, a little parody, so I remember he always do that," Ali said.

Ali also shared that he felt a great deal of pressure since Nelly sold so many albums. "Lunatics come out, we sell 2 million: 'It was a flop.' I'm, like, you know, we almost at 2 million records, what happened, you know what I'm sayin'? My man sold so many records to where us comparing our two million, which anybody would die for, people just wanted to always say, 'Well, they not as good as this. They not as good as that,' whatever the case may be, but nah--I'm the determining factor in this right now."
