Strokes and alt-rock veterans
Radiohead share equal honors on the nominations list for the 2002 NME Carling Awards with four each.
The Strokes are vying for Best Band, Best Album (Is This It), Best Single ("Hard to Explain"), and Best New Act, while Radiohead received recognition in the Best Band, Best Album (Amnesiac), Best Live Act, and Best Music Video ("Pyramid Song") categories.
Several artists were close behind the two leaders, including U2, Linkin Park, Gorillaz, and Kylie Minogue, with three nominations each.
All winners are decided by fan voting at www.nmecarlingawards.com. The award ceremony will take place Feb. 25 at the Planit Arches in London.
