BRENTWOOD, TN. (Sparrow Records) - Critically lauded new rock band NEEDTOBREATHE will open select shows throughout the month of May for Grammy Award-winning act Train ("Drops of Jupiter," " Calling All Angels"). "We like their records - this should be a lot of fun," said NEEDTOBREATHE lead singer Bear Rinehart about the touring opportunity. NEEDTOBREATHE released its debut album, Daylight, earlier this month to remarkably favorable reviews - enough to land the South Carolina band on the cover of the April 2006 issue of CCM magazine. CCM editor Jay Swartzendruber wrote, "As a full-length debut, NEEDTOBREATHE's Daylight is both surprising and engaging musically. The album - as in every song - is defined by both sweeping hooks and an emphasis on melody . . . Simply put, Daylight is so deep on potential rock radio singles, this disc would make a good 'best of' album for a lot of other bands. (Did I mention this is a debut?)" Aspiring Retail declared, "Daylight is like a shot of espresso in the morning - a quality album that could revive both radio and retail...a perfect balance of edgy high-energy guitar rock with polished alluring melodic hooks...intelligent lyricism exhales honesty and addresses spirituality." "...already a standout album of the year," decided Christian Retailing. "A moving rock collection that begs the listener to turn out the lights, turn up the volume and soak it in." NEEDTOBREATHE's Daylight (featuring first single "You Are Here") was recorded in England with mainstream producer Andy Green (Keane, KT Tunstall). The band is signed to both Christian (Sparrow) and general market (Lava/Atlantic) record deals with the goal of bringing a positive message and sound to a wider range of music fans.
