BALTIMORE, MD. (Newsome Awards) - Newsome Awards Is NOW Accepting Nominations For Our 2006 Show, to be held in the city of Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday August 26, 2006
Currently we have 21 categories that artists can submit their projects for. Such categories are: Best Internet Radio Broadcast, Best Spoken Word, Instrumentalist of the Year, Best Children's Group, Duo, or Choir of the Year, Best Liturgical or Praise Dance Performance of the Year, and many, many others. Our hosts for this years show is gospel recording artist and actor, as well as, 'Son of Morgan Freeman', Alfonso Freeman. We also have the beautiful and talented Radio Personality from the city of Baltimore, Maryland, 'Midday Diva', Doresa Harvey.
The Newsome Awards is one of gospel music's newest awards show. We acknowledge domestic and international artists, as well as applauding veterans in the industry, with a special emphasis on new and upcoming stars.
This year we are proud to acknowledge Zadelle 'Mama' Curtis, as Humanitarian of the Year. Mama Curtis has exemplified herself to be a great supporter and lover of gospel music both national as well as international. She has supported many ministries over the years. She's a former Advisory Board Member for the Stellar Award Gospel Music Academy (SAGMA). She currently servers as an Advisory Board Member for the Newsome Awards, she works with the Gospel Music Workshop of America, she's a Gospel Announcer on WSSD 88.1 FM Radio in Chicago, Il, and she is an all out supporter to ministries all around the country.
Artist that sign up and that are selected for nomination with the Newsome Awards Show could possibly gain great exposure and job opportunities both national and international.
This show is open to all singers, all musicians, and all talented individuals who God has graced with a good talent. You must have a CD or DVD made and ready to be submitted with a picture, and a bio. The deadline for project submissions is May 17, 2006. After projects are reviewed we will announce our nominees through email or postal mail. Nominees will be notified before voting begins. Voting will take place online. (See Rules and Regulations)
