New York, NY (GENERATION MEDIA) - The Peaks a Montreal based band are the latest Internet download success story. With the completion of their new CD "Out of the Box", this new boy band with fresh faces and even sweeter sounding POP tunes are having a rise that is reminiscent of the British Invasion of the late 1960's.

Two months ago their label unintentionally released a single by The Peaks. The band's label Burst Records had created a few private links for the band to listen to the first edits. The band did what any other young band would do, send the link to their friends and family to get an opinion of the songs--but what transpired was truly incredible.

Friends began trading MP3 files of the demo tracks and soon thousands of fans began popping up from everywhere. A blog site by a 23 year old named Jenny D from Minneapolis has been a driving force and inspiration for others to download and demand new tracks. Images of the band in concert, and a MPEG video are also being sought by young girls who are head over heals with the band's singer Jeremie Benjamin.

The Peaks are four regular guys from Montreal who are writing and playing music that is breaking through the sea of new bands. Mathew Street, the songwriter and keyboardist for The Peaks is being compared to the breakout sound of bands like Oasis, Morrisey, and The Cure. The other members making up the rhythm section are Rick Scott on bass and Buck David on drums. Though in recent years there have been a trend for young female listeners to connect with female artists such as Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Avril Levigne, The Peaks are finding their base with young women.

Radio in the U.S. is beginning to be hit with new tracks by The Peaks this week. The top-fifty Triple A radio markets are beginning to air tracks on specialty new release shows and college radio is getting the music on the air as well. The four tracks making waves in the U.S. market are, Turn You On, Rainbow Groove, Something and Friend.

More information on the band can be found at their website at www.thepeaksband.com and on various sites on MySpace.com and other blogs.
