NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Singer, songwriter, producer, and rapper Missy Elliott won her first Grammy Award on Wednesday (February 27) for her hit song "Get Ur Freak On," which took home best rap solo performance honors at the 44th annual Grammy Awards.

However, the night's big winner was J Records recording artist Alicia Keys, who earned five awards, including best new artist, best R&B album for Songs In A Minor, and best R&B song, song of the year, and best female R&B vocal performance for "Fallin'."

Backstage at the Grammys, Elliott shared her thoughts about Keys. "Oh, she's amazing. I mean, first of all, we always have a lot of different talents come out, but never somebody who can get out there and play the piano. I think she contributed and changed what we normally hear from music on an R&B side," she said.

Keys performed a medley of "Fallin'' and "A Woman's Worth" during the Grammy ceremony. Elliott added that Keys has added a new dimension to the world of hip-hop, explaining, "We have our own way we hear--you know, it's kind of like hip-hop, club--and she kind of came in with a classical feel to it, so she's amazing." Elliott's third album, Miss E...So Addictive, has sold more than 1.5 million copies to date.
