INDIANAPOLIS (American Pianists Association) - The American Pianists Association (APA) has announced a change to the artist line-up schedule for the 2006 Indy Jazz Fest presented by Kroger, held June 16 -18 in Military park, downtown Indianapolis.

Due to a medical condition, legendary trumpeter, Wynton Marsalis, has cancelled his appearances at several summer festivals, including the 2006 Indy Jazz Fest. Herbie Hancock, the internationally known acoustic, electronic jazz and R & B performer, will perform instead.

Helen Small, president and CEO of the APA, noted that Hancock's music spans several generations and that his performance is scheduled on Father's Day. "Herbie Hancock is a class act and families have an excellent opportunity to give Dad a unique gift this year-live performances from Herbie Hancock and all of the high-caliber artists at the Indy Jazz Fest presented by Kroger," Small said.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now at Ticketmaster locations, online at www.ticketmaster.com or through charge-by-phone at (317) 239-5151. Tickets are $25 per day in advance and $35 per day at the door. Children ages 14 and under will be admitted free when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
