BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Top40 Charts) - Tower Records in Argentina won't be selling the Latin songstress' Shakira�s albums any longer. The decision is in protest of Shakira's boyfriend, Antonio de la Rua the son of former Argentinian President Fernando de la Rua. Antonio appears in Shakira�s most recent video for "Underneath Your Clothes," he was also his father�s closest advisor. Fernando resigned his presidency in December in the midst of economic and political unrest. The decision to ban Shakira's albums was made by the President of Tower Records in Argentina, Pablo de Paola. A spokesperson for Shakira's record label in Argentina expressed surprise at the decision to target a singer who sells so many albums.
