NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Three time Grammy winners and Mammoth Records recording artists Los Lobos finished recording their 11th studio album in Los Angeles last month. The result is the finest album in their storied career. Co-produced by the band and legendary producer John Leckie, "Good Morning Aztlan" will be released on June 4th.

"'Good Morning Aztlan' is where we're at in our lives as songwriters and musicians, putting it down exactly how we see it and hear it, just singing and playing our hearts out," commented Louie Perez. "What really amazes me after this long, we've not only becoming stronger as a band, but we've been able to maintain a sense of enthusiasm and discovery about ourselves and our music."

"Good Morning Aztlan" is certain to go down as the most soulful album the band has released to date. Aztlan contains 12 brand new tracks: "Done Gone Blue," "Heart's Made Of Stone," "Maria Christina," "Round & Round," "What In The World," "Luz De Mi Vida," "The Big Ranch," "Malaque," "The Word," "Get To This," "Tony & Maria," and the title track.

2002 marks the 25th Anniversary of Los Lobos recording career. The band's first album, "Los Lobos Del Este De Los Angeles" was released in 1977. Throughout their 25 year career Los Lobos have recorded some of the most treasured albums including: "How Will The Wolf Survive?", "By The Light Of The Moon", "Kiko" and 1999's "This Time". With their distinctive and creative blend of rock & roll, Latin, and soul, combined with consistently innovative production, Los Lobos' music once again reaches out to fans young and old, from every different background imaginable.

Just last year the band's recording career was celebrated with the release of the Grammy-nominated four-CD box set, "El Cancionero Mas Y Mas: A History Of The Band From East L.A.". The set featured stand out tracks and unreleased material from all of the band's studio recordings. Last summer Los Lobos received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in Miami.

John Leckie has long been one of the world's most prolific and acclaimed producers. He began his career as a tape operator and engineer at the legendary Abbey Road studios where he worked with the likes of John Lennon, George Harrison and Pink Floyd. Many of the albums he has produced have become some of the most cherished albums of all time, including Radiohead's "The Bends" and debut albums by the Stone Roses and The Verve. Leckie has also worked with XTC, Public Image Limited, Dr. John and Simple Minds among numerous others.

Television appearances, special events and touring plans are currently in the works.
