St. LUCIA, Ca (St. Lucia Jazz Festival Web site) - Neo-soul songstress Lauryn Hill will headline a May 11 concert as part of the annual St. Lucia Jazz Festival in the Caribbean. The event, now in its 11th year, will also feature performances by India.Arie, Branford Marsalis, Smokey Robinson, Chucho Valdez, and En Vogue during its May 3-12 run.

Hill and Robinson will lead two of the bigger bills on the Pigeon Island National Landmark's main stage during the festival. Along with Hill, the May 11 show will boast appearances by Buddy Guy, Angelique Kidjo, and Ronald "Boo" Hinkinson & Denys Baptiste. For the next night's closing show, Robinson will lead a bill that includes Arie, Courtney Pine, and Los Hombres Calientes at the same venue.

Tickets for individual events can be purchased from the Jazz Shop at 758-451 8566. For more information on the festival, tickets, packages, performers, and venues, visit the official St. Lucia Jazz Festival Web site.

Hill's only other recent performance came Feb. 15 during a Los Angeles Biggest Hearts in Entertainment concert celebrating U2 frontman Bono.

A two-hour episode of the former Fugees member's MTV "Unplugged 2.0" episode premiered Sunday on MTV2 and is airing at various times this week (see the network's Web site for dates and times). A one-hour version will air on MTV on a later date, and an audio document of the show -- which featured Hill performing all new material with only her acoustic guitar as accompaniment -- is due out in April, according to her official Columbia Web site.
