James Blunt brings his 'Back To Bedlam World Tour' back to North
America this fall for an extensive headlining concert tour that will hit 35 cities from coast to coast. Kicking off October 1st in Montreal, the seven-week itinerary is slated to wrap up on November 18th in Las Vegas. Among the highlights of the tour will be Blunt's debut performance at
Radio City
Music Hall in New York and the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. A limited amount of the best tickets for each show will be available via pre-sale on James' website www.jamesblunt.com. Pre-sale of tickets for New York will begin July 26th, with all other date on August 8th.
As on his previous U.S. tour, Blunt will be raising funds for Doctors Without Borders, the international medical humanitarian organization. At each venue, a personal, one-on-one after show meet and greet with James is being auctioned at the show's merchandise booth, with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). At just ten venues on his spring 2006 U.S. tour, over $35,000 was raised. Blunt personally witnessed the life-saving work of Doctors Without Borders while stationed with the British army in Kosovo, where he served as a reconnaissance officer with the Nato peacekeeping force. One of his songs, 'No Bravery', was written in the barracks in Kosovo in response to the genocide he had witnessed. Please visit www.doctorswithoutborders.org for more information.
In other Blunt news, August 8th will see the U.S. release of CHASING TIME: THE BEDLAM SESSIONS, a live concert DVD filmed at BBC Studios in London. For this special performance, James and his band were joined by a trio of backing vocalists and a string section. In addition to powerful renditions of every song from his acclaimed debut album, BACK TO BEDLAM, the performance ends with Blunt's frequent show-closer, a cover of the Pixies' 'Where Is My Mind'? Along with the concert, the DVD features over an hour of extras, including four video clips and 'making of the video' features, a documentary, an interview with James, and a photo gallery.
