NEW YORK, NY (Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen) - Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen recording group
Cobra Starship - the new band led by former Midtown frontman Gabe Saporta - has announced early details of their eagerly awaited debut album. Entitled "While The City Sleeps, We Rule The Streets," the collection is poised to land in stores on October 10th.
The album will be heralded by the single, "Snakes On A Plane (Bring It)," the lead track from the upcoming Decaydance/New Line Records release, "Snakes On A Plane: The Album." The song - which has already been declared "the song of the year" by the New York Post - sees Saporta joined by a number of special guests, including vocalists William Beckett of The Academy Is..., Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds, as well as The All-American Rejects' guitarist, Nick Wheeler.
In addition, the "Snakes On A Plane (Bring It)" companion video features an appearance from the one-and-only Samuel L. Jackson, star of the hugely anticipated New Line Pictures release, "Snakes On A Plane." The clip recently had its world television premiere on MTV2, and can also be viewed at Cobra Starship's MySpace page, located at www.myspace.com/cobrastarship.
Cobra Starship will make their live debut on August 16th at Los Angeles' Key Club as part of the "Snakes On A Plane" soundtrack release party. The following evening, August 17th, will see the collective performing "Snakes On A Plane (Bring It)" on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
From there, Saporta and Cobra Starship will set out on their first-ever U.S. tour, serving as special guests to Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen's own Gym Class Heroes on their "Jerry's Kids Short Bus Tour '06." The trek will kick off on September 14th at the Icon in Buffalo, New York, then cross the country with dates continuing through an October 7th show at Anaheim, California's Chain Reaction (see attached itinerary). Support on all dates comes from New York City-based mad rapper, Cage.
