BURBANK, CA (Reprise Records/ www.thesecretmachines.com) - In their typically innovative fashion, propulsive rock trio Secret Machines are throwing away the mold when it comes to staging their upcoming fall tour. Intending to create an extraordinary and memorable concert event for their fans, the band have done away with the common end stage set-up, and will instead appear on an elevated circular platform in the center of each venue, allowing the audience to gather around them just a few feet away. Playing provides a truly communal live experience for the audience, who will be standing close enough to brothers Brandon and Benjamin Curtis and Josh Garza to feel their sweat.

"We want to break down barriers between audience and performer in order to have the audience become a bigger part of the musical experience," says Brandon. He continues, "We want our fans to literally be a part of the performance with us, and playing in the round allows for that unique opportunity."

The circular staging - which the New York-based Secret Machines first employed last spring for the CD-release parties for their new album "Ten Silver Drops" - is perfect for the album's "other-worldly atmospherics" and "deeply grooving psycho-outs" (as Spin Magazine put it). Listening to "Ten Silver Drops" "feels a bit like watching theater: personal moments repurposed for dramatic perfection," says Filter Magazine. In addition, URB wrote of the album: "The Secret Machines secure their position at the helm of indie rock's royal court by combining the musical genes of our classic rock ancestors with their forward-thinking lyricism and arrangements, resulting in an ass-kicking sophomore effort."
