NEW YORK (RainForest Foundation) - R&B legends Smokey Robinson and Patti LaBelle are among the latest additions to the bill for the Rainforest Foundation's 11th annual Carnegie Hall Benefit Concert on Saturday (April 13). Other late additions include guitarist Jeff Beck, '60s singer Lulu, cellist Han-Na Chang, country artist Wynonna Judd, singer-songwriter Rebekah Del Rio, sitarist Anoushka Shankar, and jazz/soul singer Nina Simone. The artists join previously announced performers Elton John, James Taylor, Sting, and Ravi Shankar.

The evening will be dedicated to former Beatles member George Harrison, who died on November 30 last year after a long battle with cancer, and the Rainforest Foundation Benefit Concert's late co-chairman Herman S. Sandler, who tragically lost his life on September 11. Ravi Shankar will perform a song he wrote in memory of his good friend Harrison as part of the salute.

"We have titled the evening 'Give Me Love, Give Me Peace On Earth' from George Harrison's timeless lyrics," said Rainforest Foundation founder and concert producer Trudie Styler in a statement. The Rainforest Foundation was founded in 1989 by Styler and her husband, Sting. To date, the foundation has projects in 18 rainforest countries across the globe, and has raised more than $12 million to further its goals.
