NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Stone Temple Pilots have added more dates and festivals to their tour itinerary; Elton John and Billy Joel put some make-up dates on their schedule; Kenny Chesney announces his spring tour; and more.

STP's trek kicks off in Austin, Texas, at the Rock for the Roses benefit show at the Auditorium Shores, with Cake also on board. Most of the dates, some of which were previously announced, are festivals, such as the much-anticipated Beyond 2002 (allstar, March 6). Chesney's amphitheater outing, the second leg of his No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems Tour with Montgomery Gentry, Jamie O'Neal, and Phil Vassar, gets going on May 9 in Alabama.

After Billy Joel's laryngitis, inflamed vocal chords, and upper respiratory infection forced the postponement of the final eight dates of his and Elton John's Face to Face tour last week (allstar, Jan. 22), the touring duo has made good on its promise of a quick rescheduling. The rescheduled dates begin Sept. 13 in Tampa, Fla., and continue through Oct. 13 in Uniondale, N.Y., according to a spokesperson for Joel at Columbia Records.

On the festival front, a few new acts have joined the lineup for the Coachella Valley Music & Arts festival, set for April 27-28 in Indio, Calif., (allstar, Feb. 25). On April 27, Gorillaz' Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, DJ Miguel Migs, and DJ Baba G/Soundz of the Asian Underground have joined the bill. On April 28, Beastie Boys' DJ Mixmaster Mike, Bad Boy Bill, and Herbert join the fun. Nakamura has also joined the lineup for the 7th Annual Boarding for Breast Cancer benefit on April 14 in Sierra-at-Tahoe, Calif., with Crazy Town and Sense Field.
