New York NY (CITY CANYONS RECORDS) - After exploding onto the American college radio scene with more than 160 stations picking up their music and returning top ten chart positions, Anemo unleashes its debut album "slowburn" September 18th on the unsuspecting, but soon to be delighted, British public.

The album release will be preceded on September 4 by the release of a "double-A" side extended play release featuring two singles from the full album, "Made of Fiction" and "Fallout Renegade".

Since its release in America on New York label City Canyons Records, ANEMO's "slowburn" has achieved critical acclaim in the underground music movement with Ultimateguitar.com describing it as having 'strong lyrics, beautiful melodies, wonderful tuneful vocals'. From the rock riffs of "Fallout Renegade," to the pop melody of "Same Day Chore" to the majestic ballad "slowburn" there is something in ANEMO's 12-track debut for all music lovers.

Anemo's strength and originality lies in its ear for melody and musical diversity. When a classically trained pianist (and established producer), a rock guitarist and a front woman whose vocal gymnastics range from crystal-clear to crowd-commanding pour their creative resources together, the results are bound to be spellbinding. Creem magazine came closest to pigeonholing the band when that publication, in a rave review, described it as "Swirlin' around like a tornado tossed three-way between Eurythmics, Pretenders and Portishead'.

Currently in mid-tour in the U.K., ANEMO'S rocking riffs and catchy melodies can be heard at these venues-among other upcoming appearances to be announced shortly:

Tuesday 29th August, (8pm) - The Joogleberry Playhouse, 14 - 17 Manchester Street, Brighton.
Thursday 7 September (10pm) – Sandinista Cross Belgrave Street, Leeds, LS2 8JP, UK
Friday 8 September - Talking Heads, 320 Portswood Road, Portswood, Southampton, SO17 2TD

City Canyons also has on its roster of artists US rock/pop/blues artist Jen Elliot, UK songwriter David Steele, noted former Dead Can Dance percussionist Peter Ulrich, Finnish rockers Valerian, New York singer/songwriter Sara Wendt, young alternative U.S. rockers The Alrights and The Velmas and a number of other up and coming US artists.
Distribution of "slowburn" in the U.K. on City Canyons Records is via Pebble Beach Music.
