NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Superstar singer-songwriter R. Kelly, who is currently facing allegations of having sex with a minor and videotaping the sex act, will release a new single, "Soldier's Heart," on April 23. All of the proceeds from the song, which will be serviced to radio on Monday (April 15), will benefit the U.S. armed forces.

"Soldier's Heart" was written, produced, and arranged by R. Kelly. The song describes the bravery, courage, and patriotism of our troops that are currently fighting the war on terrorism abroad as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Most of the proceeds from the sale of the song will go to the Army Emergency Relief fund, which provides emergency financial assistance to U.S Army soldiers and their eligible family members. The remaining portion of the proceeds will go to hospitalized veterans in Chicago, the singer's hometown.

R. Kelly's latest album release is The Best Of Both Worlds, a collaborative effort with Jay-Z. The collection is currently Number Six on the Billboard 200 albums chart and has sold more than 445,000 copies in the three weeks since its release.
