LOS ANGELES (Recording Academy) - WHO: The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the Recording Arts and Sciences Congressional Caucus (RASCC), two-time GRAMMY winner Kelly Clarkson, and members of Congress, as well as dozens of music makers.

WHAT: GRAMMYs on the HillSM - A day of music advocacy that connects top music makers with members of Congress in Washington, D.C., in an effort to inform policy makers of the important role the recording arts play in the nation's culture and economy, and to raise the profile of the recording arts during meetings with legislators. The day will include:

"Making The Record" - RCA recording artist Clarkson will jam with members of the Recording Arts and Sciences Congressional Caucus on Capitol Hill. GRAMMY-winning musicians, songwriters, producers and engineers - along with the "Congressional GRAMMY Band" (musically inclined members of Congress) - will demonstrate the exciting process of creating a record and the importance of each music maker's role in completing the finished product. The Recording Academy's Producers & Engineers Wing (P&E Wing) literally will bring the recording studio to Capitol Hill.

GRAMMYs on the Hill Gala Dinner - The Recording Academy's sixth annual advocacy event that honors outstanding legislators who work to improve the environment for music makers, and artists who use the power of music to improve all our lives.

Honorees: Clarkson, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Rep. Mark Foley (R- Fla.)

Presenters: Songwriter/producer Desmond Child, Academy Award winner Louis Gossett Jr., and Recording Academy President Neil Portnow
