Saosin are one of rock's fastest-growing bands despite having not yet released a full length album – but that all changes,
September 26th, with the release of their long-awaited (literally) self-titled Capitol Records debut.
After a late-summer tour supporting AFI and a sold-out album release show at L.A's Troubadour the band will join Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Underoath and Anti-Flag on the 2006 Taste of Chaos international tour, kicking off October 8th in Auckland, NZ. Saosin will then be the primary support for Senses Fail's fall tour, kicking off November 24th in Boston. A full list of confirmed tour dates is below.
Lead single "Voices" goes to radio on October 10th and its video has been added to Fuse's "Oven Fresh" and "Steven's Untitled Rock Show." Saosin is a finalist in Yahoo's "Who's Next" new artist showcase and has been chosen by Clear Channel for its "NEW!" program.

In 2003 the band, which included founding guitarists Beau Burchell and Justin Shekoski and original frontman Anthony Green, began playing out, recorded a quick EP, Translating the Name, and embarked on a U.S. tour during which time Green exited the band. To the group's surprise Translating the Name garnered the band a massive fanbase both online and at their live shows, which grew organically, and quickly.
With a revamped lineup including bassist Chris Sorenson and drummer Alex Rodriguez, along with new frontman Cove Reber, Saosin (say-o-sin) have since earned mainstage slots on the Vans Warped Tour, live dates with Avenged Sevenfold, AFI and My Chemical Romance and an ocean of fans who've downloaded their songs from MySpace over seven million times. But in the three years since word of the of the band's debut first surfaced a lot has changed from within the band and the scene from which they originally emerged.
"We were waiting until the songs were right," says Reber with considerable understatement.
Seemingly overnight, stylized bands playing strains of melodic post-hardcore have sailed up the pop charts, but Saosin have all but shunned a genre tag or image, and have instead focused their energies on making an album that will live by its musical merits alone.
In the winter of 2005 Saosin signed to Capitol Records, released a self-titled EP, and began pre-production on the album. As the band recorded various versions of new songs – both at their home studios and on a mobile recording unit set up on their tour bus – the burden of heavy expectations gave way to genuine excitement.
Produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Head Automatica), Saosin proves that in a world of fleeting fame at least one group takes the time to write songs that are built to last, and performs them as if their life depended on it.
From the buzzing dual-guitar crunch of opener "It's Far Better to Learn" to the nosebleed anthemic heights of "Voices," the livewire maelstrom of "Follow and Feel" and epic heartstring-puller "You're Not Alone," Saosin have created the kind of debut album that announces something indisputably new under rock's sun.
