Austin, Texas (AMF/ www.austinmusicfoundation.org) - Austin Music Foundation (AMF) will present the latest exciting edition of its Music Industry Boot Camp (MIBC) seminar series on Monday, October 2, 2006, entitled "Indie Labels: The Real Deal'. AMF is proud to present a rare opportunity to hear from a stellar group of panelists: Mathew Knowles (President & CEO of MusicWorld Entertainment), Phil Hinkle (Head of A&R, Century Media), Joe Swank (Yep Roc Records), Brad Turcotte (President, Compadre Records), and Randy Miller (Partner, Brando Records). The seminar will be held at Lucky Lounge from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and is sponsored in part by the Texas Music Office and the City of Austin Cultural Contracts Division.

AMF is proud to bring together such a knowledgeable group of experts, each of whom is traveling to Austin specifically to donate their time to the Austin music community by participating as speakers in this Boot Camp seminar.

'Austin Music Foundation feels extremely privileged to bring this caliber of experts to speak to Austin artists,' states Nikki Rowling, AMF's executive director. 'We are honored to host them and offer a forum to make their knowledge and expertise accessible to our artist community. This Boot Camp is definitely a not-to-be-missed event.'

This Boot Camp seminar will cover many issues surrounding the label/artist relationship, including latest methods of artist development, challenges and paths to success in keeping control of creative development, what independent labels expect of talent, as well as how the independent business model has evolved over the past several years. AMF will offer a roundtable discussion after the panel in which audience attendees can discuss individual questions with panelists in a small group format.
As always, AMF offers Music Industry Boot Camp seminars as a public service to the community, and attendance is free of charge.
