MONTREAL, Canada (www.manofthehour.ca) - Simple Plan's Sebastien Lefebvre and longtime friend Patrick Langlois of Role Model Clothing have teamed up to create Man Of The Hour, a new side project/podcast that airs every Saturday at 9 pm EST on idobi Radio. Though Man Of The Hour is theoretically a band with an EP, "En Memoire de la Famille" (In Memory of the Family), the project is currently most visible in its podcast incarnation, because the EP is out of print, and there are no plans to tour. "The band side of Man Of The Hour has always been more for fun. We jam in basements and once made a CD of the things we did, but lost it," Lefebvre explains. As for the podcast side, Lefebvre and Langlois decided to do a show for idobi Radio at the suggestion of station head Tom Cheney. When over 12,000 people tuned in to hear the duo, Man Of The Hour was quickly turned into a reoccurring broadcast/podcast. The show currently boasts a total of over 50,000 listeners and more than 275,000 iTunes downloads since its August 13th debut. "We play songs we like, talk about bands and music news, and we call people from other bands when we get tired of hearing each other talk," says Langlois of Man Of The Hour. "We also think the world is a better place when we have an outlet to share our views, opinions and thoughts. You might notice that the global price of gasoline has gone down drastically since our podcast started. Coincidence? We don't think so." Man Of The Hour can be heard live from Montreal, Canada every Saturday at 9 pm EST on idobi Radio (www.idobiradio.com). The show is also available as a free download from iTunes nine days after its original airing. Merchandise and more information on Man Of The Hour can be found at www.manofthehour.ca.
