LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) - The soundtrack to Spider-Man, featuring new songs from Nickelback's Chad Kroeger, Aerosmith, Sum 41, Alien Ant Farm, and Default, arrived in stores this week (April 30).
"Hero," Kroeger's solo debut featuring an assist from Saliva's Josey Scott, serves as the collection's first single, while Aerosmith revamps the famed theme song to the popular animated television series adapted from the comic book.
The wide-ranging collection also features songs from Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Macy Gray (as remixed by Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello), and the Strokes.
Default's Jeremy Hora tells that his connection to the franchise dates back to his youth. "I love Spider-Man," he says. "I grew up watching the old crappy cartoons with all the same background running around on its own. I used to love that show. I used to have Spider-Man outfits and stuff like that when I was a kid."
