NEW YORK (Top40 Charts / Madonna Official Website) - Madonna's journey to Malawi included visits to several orphanages. The artist is building an orphanage and child care center in Malawi to help the children of that country whose parents have died as a result of the aids epidemic. Madonna's visit is under the auspices of the Raising Malawi organization. To learn more about Raising Malawi visit raisingmalawi.org.

Also it has been confirmed that Madonna has gone through with all the adoption procedures & has adopted a little African boy from Malawi. A 13-month old baby boy was chosen from a group of orphaned kids. The little boy is called David & he was placed in an orphanage after his mother passed away shortly after his birth & his father couldn't take care of him by himself.
The father of the child first met Madonna and Guy in court during the hearing. He was happy for his son David and pleased with the new parents.

"They are a lovely couple," Yohame Banda, the father, said. "She asked me many questions. She and her husband seem happy with David. I am happy for him. Madonna promised me that as the child grows she will bring him back to visit."
"I am very very happy because as you can see there is poverty in this village and I know he will be very well looked after in America." Banda said. His wife had died a month after giving birth.
The order allows David to be taken out of the country
