
Phoenix, AZ, USA (Laurie Larson) - Highly-regarded artist Laurie Larson recently released a second album, delighting fans with powerful songwriting, vocals and music.
Entitled "Aquila," the alternative rock album is garnering broad attention worldwide. "Aquila" is receiving radio play in major U.S. cities as well as Canada, England and Australia. PBS FM of Melbourne, Australia plans to feature the album on its most popular breakfast show "TMA Wednesday" with John Carver.
The demo version of Architect of Dreams appears on the debut Crossroads Cafe CD Sampler that also includes songs from Emmylou Harris, Buckethead and Mary Youngblood. That version of Architect of Dreams made her a 2002 MP3 Grammy Nominee, and it reached No 25 on MP3.com's New Age chart. Other versions of the songs have charted on MP3.com. as well, Child of the Wind reached No 3 overall and On this Day climbed to No 3 on the Americana chart. Her MP3.com CD was the 4th highest selling folk CD on MP3.com, just ahead of another 2002 MP3 Grammy Nominee, The Byrds Roger McGuinn. and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Richie Furay.
"Architect of Dreams" is one of nine other songs showcasing Larson's incredible talent on the new album. So far, "Aquila" has received strong support and praise from professionals within the music industry. For example:
• Jim Seemiller, president of ATB Broadcast Consultants Inc. said the lyrics are "timeless" and the album is a "must-play" on any rock station. "I have been involved with classic rock radio stations for nearly 20 years, and the music, although great, is not changing," he said. "Recently, I listened to a new release 'Aquila' by Laurie Larson and was blown away - classic rock but it is new stuff. Like Neil Young said, 'Rock and roll is here to stay,' and Laurie proves it with every cut from her album."
• I have listened to "Aquila" more than any other CD I've recorded in the last 20 years," said Jim Brady, who did the mastering, production and engineering for the album. Brady has served as recording engineer for Neil Young, Linda Ronstadt, Kenny Rogers, Cracker, the Crow Soundtrack and the Young Riders television show.
• Richie Furay, who founded Buffalo Springfield and Poco and helped order the tracks on "Aquila" said: "To me there was no question as I listened that 'Child of the Wind' should be the closer. Other favorites include 'Center of Light' and 'Soul Purpose.' Good job, good musicians."
