NEW YORK (Vagrant) - If SENSES FAIL named their new CD STILL SEARCHING (Vagrant) because they were looking for the upper reaches of The Billboard 200, it was a prophetic move. Still Searching, the band's second full-length release, debuted at No. 15 on The Billboard 200 with an impressive 49,239 copies sold this week. This release nearly doubles the first week sales of the band's 2004 full-length, Let It Enfold You, which entered the Billboard chart at No. 34 and has since sold more than 325,000 copies. Senses Fail's debut EP, From the Depths of Dreams, has now sold over 250,000 copies.
Singer Buddy Nielsen enthuses, "I fell like we've really grown together as a band on this CD. The fact that our fans like what we do is all we ever wanted - having this level of support totally blows us away."
The album's success was helped along by an extremely active fan base that flocked to the band's completely sold-out club shows, their MySpace site (the band's posted tracks have now been played in excess of ten million times), their AOL video premiere and a MySpace full-album preview. In iTunes news, the album debuted on their rock chart at No. 4.
After playing the club dates, which ended in San Francisco on October 4th, the band flew to Australia to catch up with the international Taste Of Chaos Tour. The tour will make stops in Japan, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and England before wrapping up in Cardiff, Wales on November 21st.
To support the release of Still Searching domestically, the band recently announced a 19 show US tour beginning November 24 in Boston which will run through December 15 in Los Angeles (tour itinerary at www.sensesfail.com). The band will be supported on the road by special guests Saosin, and Bleeding Through and on selected dates by Drive By and I Am The Avalanche.
