NEW YORK (Dondido Music/ www.darryltookes.net) - Congratulations to the Darryl Tookes Band on receiving 9 Grammy nominations for their new CD, Journey to the Hieros Gamos. Along with being nominated for Album of the Year, they are also nominated for Record of the Year for Where Did I Go Wrong?; Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals and Best R&B Song for Baby Don't Stop.

My experiences working with so many wonderful people through the years has brought me to this place. I am deeply grateful for these many beautiful memories, all of which have been an important part of my development. Now that I have my own band, I am having the best time. I really love playing with these guys! ADE31.jpg

William Heaton Records - an independent label. Art house production for the connoisseur of great music. At William Heaton Records our mission is to bring to a global audience the best new original creative music. Our label was formed upon this idea. Our founders, Bill and Bev Heaton, believe in talent. They recognize the need for independent labels to provide opportunity for deserving artists. The Heatons realize that in today's business world, this can best be achieved by a small boutique company. The release of the Darryl Tookes Band's Journey to the Hieros Gamos is a bold step. A statement of the Heaton's commitment to bridge the divide between great art and commerciality.

Nine Grammy nominations! William Heaton Records is very proud of this honor, and grateful to the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for their recognition.

Darryl Tookes has worked with a long list of great artists, including Leonard Bernstein, Quincy Jones, Sting and Diana Ross. Tookes says, "My experiences working with so many wonderful people through the years has brought me to this place. I am deeply grateful for these many beautiful memories, all of which have been an important part of my development. Now that I have my own band, I am having the best time. I really love playing with these guys!"

In the words of 14-time Grammy winner Eric Schilling when he mixed the Journey to the Hieros Gamos, "These guys are natural. They really swing!"
