Music Group LLC./CMG, it was announced today by Sylvia Rhone, President of Universal Motown Records, Mel Lewinter, Chairman and CEO of the Universal Motown Records Group and Steve Rifkind, CEO and founder of SRC Records.
'CMG and its Chairman Luis Navarro have proven to be a formidable music and entertainment force in the Latin and urban arena,' stated Mr. Rifkind. 'This relationship will enable us to further advance the array of opportunities and resources made available through CMG and the expertise of their entire team.' CMG was founded and is helmed by Mr. Navarro, Chairman of the THE COALITION, a holding company with a portfolio of subsidiaries that include CMG Records, CM Restaurant and night club holdings and CB Boxing Management. Teaming up with CMG as VP of Marketing and Radio is industry guru, Carlos 'Tone Capone' Acosta; a marketing powerhouse who has worked with R-Kelly, Mobb Deep, Pitbull, Ying Yang Twins and Justin Timberlake.
THE COALITION's portfolio includes Florida restaurant holdings the Cielo Supper Club, the Sports Bar, as well as numerous athletic and entertainment endeavors, including overseeing the careers of such World Champions such as Daniel Santos, WBO 154 Champion, Juan Urango, IBF, WBC and WBA 140 Champion, as well. The company is also involved in the distribution rights in and for Reggaeton super stars Zion & Lennox, Ark Angel & De La Ghetto and Los Cocorocos, a conceptual project that joins the tropical-salsa icons of our times with today's most influential hip-hop, reggaeton acts and features Victor Manuelle, Zion, Tito Nieves, Don Omar, Tego Calderon, Gilberto Sta.
