New York, NY. (Atlantic Records) - The 4th most famous person in Kazakhstan, Borat Sagdiyev (better known simply as Borat), is set to make his first-ever musical performance on American television with an appearance on NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on November 1. Sagdiyev will be performing "You Be My Wife," one of the many musical highlights from "BORAT: STEREOPHONIC MUSICAL LISTENINGS THAT HAVE BEEN ORIGIN IN MOVING FILM 'BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN,'" the official soundtrack to the eagerly awaited
20th Century Fox film, Borat: Cultural Learnings of
America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Joining Sagdiyev for tomorrow's performance is renowned Croatian keytarist
Belinda Bedekovic, who also appears on the CD. The soundtrack, available on Kuzçek Records, in association with Downtown/Atlantic Records, arrives in stores today. The film is set to open in theaters across
America and many major foreign territories on Friday, November 3rd.
"BORAT: STEREOPHONIC MUSICAL LISTENINGS THAT HAVE BEEN ORIGIN IN MOVING FILM 'BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN'" includes a variety of musical selections, such as the Borat classic "In My Country There Is Problem (Throw The Jew Down The Well)." "You Be My Wife" is available exclusively on the soundtrack, along with the Borat theme and other key songs from the movie.
As if all that weren't enough, the Enhanced CD also features three video segments, including "O Kazakhstan," an exclusive sing-a-long scene from the film specifically tailored for the soundtrack. In addition, the soundtrack includes excerpts from the film's score, composed by Erran Baron Cohen, known for his work as a founding member of renowned world fusion beat scientists, Zohar.
The film - which sees Kazakhstani television journalist Borat Sagdiyev traveling from his home in Kazakhstan to the "U.S. and A" to report on the "greatest country in the world" - will be heralded with a major promotional schedule. Sagdiyev recently appeared on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and "Today," and CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman." The media blitz will also include Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (check local listings for details).
