New York, NY. (Atlantic Records) -- Shinedown will soon bring its unique sound to troops stationed in the Persian Gulf on the bandļæ½s second USO tour. The group - which has scored six consecutive top five rock radio hit singles - will perform and meet with service members. This tour is also co-sponsored by U.S. Army-Europe.

The band released its second Atlantic Records album, US AND THEM in October 2005. Their first single, 'Save Me,' held the No. 1 position on active rock charts for 12 weeks and went on to top every rock radio format chart. Their follow-up single, 'I Dare You,' also scored top 5 success, with their latest single, 'Heroes,' already following suit. The bandļæ½s 2003 debut, LEAVE A WHISPER was certified platinum with sales exceeding one million units. Shinedown has spent most of 2006 on the road, and has toured with Godsmack, Rob Zombie, and Trapt.

This is the 8th USO tour to the Persian Gulf this year. Other celebrities and performers who have visited the region include Toby Keith, Drowning Pool, Gary Sinise, Montgomery Gentry, and NFL players Bryce Fisher, Patrick Kerney and Max Starks.

USO tours are sponsored by AT&T, Inc., the official telecommunications sponsor of USO entertainment tours.
