Toronto, CA. (Kindling/Warner Music) -- Toronto rockers Dearly Beloved are about to hit the road again in support of their debut album You Are The Jaguar (Kindling/Warner Music). Since the release this past summer, Dearly Beloved has been collecting critical acclaim from Canadas best magazines and newspapers. John Kendle of Uptown Magazine states that You Are The Jaguar is “a vital indie rock record” while Lorraine Carpenter of Exclaim! calls the music “hard-hitting, hook-heavy rocknroll.”

Performing live is where the Dearly Beloved magic happens and is not to be missed. The band recently filmed their second video for “Butler Routine” and is eager to get back on the road in November and December. “Dearly Beloved were gathered in front of the crowd this night to rock and fucking roll, and nothing else,” says Phil Villeneuve of Chartattack. “With the help of a female vocalist and a frontman with enough spark to light a fireworks show, this band put on a solid show.”

With influences from 70s UK punk to early 80s pop to Detroit rock and roll, Dearly Beloved features lead vocalist and bassist Rob Higgins (ex. Change of Heart & Doctor), vocalist Niva Chow, drummer Alex Oreilly (ex. Doctor) and two guitarists Damon Richardson (ex. Change of Heart & Danko Jones) and John Pogue.

Press Reviews:

"One minute they might be a snarling, drunken rock machine, the next a dreamy, quirky alt unit. Either way, the music stays fresh, which is why Toronto's Dearly Beloved is onto something with their full-length debut, " - Evan Davies, NOW Magazine

“like a pack of junkies playing for their smack…… a short and sweet set aided vocally by rock tigress Niva Chow…..hard-hitting, hook-heavy rocknroll.” -Lorraine Carpenter, Exclaim!

“the grit of old-school punk, the guitars of the new rock revival and a touch of The Velvet Underground….a worthy addition to the indie scenesters collection.”- Paul Budel, Chart Magazine

“An artful and dynamic melodic rock unit combining elements of Higgins past projects into a fresh, distinct new sound.”- Chuck Molgat, Prairie Dog Magazine

“People better start paying serious attention to Dearly Beloved. They just might be the most original rock band going in Toronto right now.” -Erin Taylor, Scene and Heard Magazine

“Perhaps the best songs hes ever done. There are some slow songs on the album, but it mostly rocks with an intensity thats more joyful than woeful.” - Mary Dickie, The Toronto Sun

“His masterpiece resplendent with heavy bass riffs, hard-rockin guitar licks and passionate he/she vocals, this musical venture goes far beyond the typical turning lemons into lemonade scenario.”- Christine Leonard, FFWD Weekly

“a five-piece rock outfit whose debut album pairs jagged, chug-chug riffs with male/female call-back vocals that at first feel derivative but eventually take hold after repeated listenings. Dearly Beloved can ably kick out the jams -- see Queens of the Stone Age-styled highlights "The Ride" and "Manifesto" -- or turn the tables without warning for pretty, melancholy ditties like "The Butler Routine" and "Noise Submitted to Order."
- Andrea Miller, EYE Magazine
