Stone Sour is having a great week!
Come What(ever) May, the band's sophomore album has earned an RIAA GOLD certification, surpassing 500,000 copies sold since its August release. Stone Sour also received a Grammy nomination for their track "30/30-150" in the category of Best Metal Performance.
Upon release, Come What(ever) May debuted at No 4 on the Billboard Top 200 charts with over 80,000 copies sold in its first week. In the 18 weeks since, the album has held a spot in the Top 10 Hard Rock charts each week. In addition, the first single, "Through Glass" is a multi-format smash. The single was No 1 on the Rock radio charts for 8 weeks, Top 5 at Modern Rock, is currently Top 15 on Hot AC and is racing up the Pop charts. The 2nd single, "sillyworld" is already Top 20 at Active Rock and climbing fast. The video for the single recently went to No 1 on MTV2's T-Minus Rock countdown.
"Either way you slice it, [Come What(ever) May] is an intense, taut piece of work where every song could be a single," says Billboard. The album, produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver), is an exercise in dynamics. It's tight, crisp, and full of rowdy rockers and melodic numbers."
Lead vocalist, Corey Taylor is one of the most recognized figures in rock, thanks to his dual role as the frontman for Stone Sour and the Grammy Award winning Slipknot, a multi-platinum act in its own right. The band is also comprised of guitarist James Root, who is also in Slipknot, bassist Shawn Economaki, guitarist Josh Rand and new drummer Roy Mayorga. The band's 2002 self-titled Roadrunner debut was also certified gold.
Stone Sour is currently TOURING North America as part of the 'Music As A Weapon Tour 2006.'
