'The Gospel According To Patti' Mega Church Tour Cancelled

PHILADELPHIA, PA. (Top 40 Charts/ Pattonium) - Patti LaBelle announced today the cancellation of LaBelle's current mega church tour, "The Gospel According to Patti." Patti LaBelle regrets the discontinuation of her gospel tour due to the promoter failing to meet their obligations. Says LaBelle, "I really had hoped to continue to reach the gospel audience as we had originally planned. But I have an obligation to my staff to make sure they can keep their plans without last minute changes and to make sure they are paid for the work they do."

According to LaBelle, inconsistencies coupled with a breach of contract have forced LaBelle to walk away from what has been a highly successful, sold- out run. The tour, which kicked off in October, is in support of Patti's latest album, The Gospel According to Patti LaBelle, which was released on November 21st and is currently No 1 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart. Patti's upcoming schedule included tour stops in various markets including Philadelphia, Cleveland and St. Louis, among others.

Although disappointed with the outcome, LaBelle has established a great working relationship with tour sponsors, Chrysler & American Airlines, and is hopeful a reputable promoter would agree to continue the tour.
