Nashville , TN. (Columbia Records) - New Columbia singer/songwriter Ashley Monroe will have a dream come true when she makes her Grand Ole Opry debut this Saturday, December 16 at the famed Ryman Auditorium. 'I couldn't believe it,' she said. 'This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and to be able to make my debut on the Ryman stage is just incredible. I can't wait!' Ashley will sing the Gospel great 'In The Garden' on the first show and her self-penned 'Used' on the second, and she will perform her current radio hit 'I Don't Want To' on both shows. The new single, which she wrote with Train frontman Pat Monahan, features Ronnie Dunn (of Brooks & Dunn fame) on background vocals. The corresponding music video spent several weeks in CMT's Hot Shot rotation and is currently No 15 on the channel's 'Top 20 Countdown.' Born in Corryton , Tennessee and raised in nearby Knoxville , Ashley's musical bloodline extends to Country Music Hall of Famer Carl Smith (who signed with Columbia Records in 1950) and the famed Carter family through relatives of Ashley's grandparents. Her debut album will hit stores early in 2007. www.ashleymonroe.com
