Records/ Top40 Charts) - " Bad Day" - the debut single from Grammy-nominated pop singer Daniel Powter - has become the first-ever digital single to be certified double platinum by the RIAA, having sold more than two million downloads in the U.S. The piano-driven pop track was the biggest-selling digital single in 2006, spending five consecutive weeks at Number One on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. It was the most-played song in Europe in 2005, reaching the top spot in twelve countries. "Bad Day" has also earned Daniel his first Grammy nomination, for "Best Male Pop Vocal Performance." More is in store for Powter fans in 2007. Warner Bros. Records will release a deluxe edition CD/DVD of Powter's self-titled debut album on March 20th, which includes his new single "Love You Lately," along with music videos, B-sides, and a special eight-song in-studio live performance. The album has been certified gold in the U.S. by the RIAA, and has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide.
