SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Top40 Charts/ Recording Academy) - In a signature GRAMMY moment, nominees John Legend, John Mayer and Corinne Bailey Rae will take the stage together and perform on the 49th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast, it was announced today by The Recording Academy. Previously announced performers include Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, the Dixie Chicks, Gnarls Barkley, Ludacris, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Justin Timberlake and Carrie Underwood. Previously announced presenters include The Black Eyed Peas, Ciara, Nelly Furtado, Terrence Howard, Samuel L. Jackson, P!nk, and Rihanna. The music industry's premier event will take place live on Sunday, Feb. 11, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). The show also will be supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide and XM Satellite Radio, and covered online at GRAMMY.yahoo.com. Additional performers, presenters and special segments will be announced soon.

The pairing of Legend, Mayer and Rae - a unique group of singer/songwriters whose lyrical ability and resonant musicality have established them at the forefront of today's musical landscape (as evidenced by their multiple nominations) - presents a special opportunity to spotlight how a younger generation of artists continues in the tradition of great GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriters of the past.

With five GRAMMY nominations, three-time GRAMMY winner John Mayer is up for Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Continuum, Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Waiting On The World To Change," Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for "Route 66," and Best Rock Album for Try! (with the John Mayer Trio).

Three-time GRAMMY winner John Legend has three nominations: Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Save Room," Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for "Heaven," and Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for "Family Affair" (with Joss Stone and Van Hunt).

Newcomer Corinne Bailey Rae also has three nods for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for "Put Your Records On," as well as Best New Artist.

The 49th Annual GRAMMY Awards are produced by John Cossette Productions in association with Ken Ehrlich Productions for The Recording Academy. Ken Ehrlich and John Cossette are executive producers, Walter C. Miller is producer/director, Tisha Fein is the coordinating producer, David Wild is the writer, and Tzvi Small is supervising producer. Musical directors for the telecast and pre-telecast are Rickey Minor and Larry Batiste, respectively.
