Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Equity Music Group) - Little Big Town, currently riding high on the charts with their own single and album, can also be heard on John Mellencamp's brand new release, Freedom's Road. The Grammy nominated band lent their distinctive harmonies to eight of the CD's tracks, including Mellencamps current single, 'Our Country,' a song Little Big Town performed with him last year at Game Two of the World Series. The song is also featured in Chevy's current national ad campaign.

Mellencamp had Little Big Town on the road as his opening act for his Spring 2006 tour, and he instantly became a fan of the band's sound. Following the tour, he invited them to work with him on his new record.

"John Mellencamp has long been an influence on us," said Little Big Town's Jimi Westbrook. "To actually be in the studio with him, working on his CD was an amazing experience. We were so inspired by John's writing and the work he put into the making of this record. We are honored that he asked us to be a part of it."

Little Big Town could easily call 2006 a year of milestones. Their album, The Road To Here, was certified Gold, and is very close to Platinum. 'Boondocks,' the lead single from the CD, resonated with listeners and almost instantly became one of the most downloaded singles of the early part of 2006, scoring the band a Gold Digital Certification for more than 100,000 sold in digital downloads. Billboard Magazine named Little Big Town the Independent Artist of the Year for 2006, and The Road To Here the Independent Album of the Year. The band tops these lists of artists and albums in all genres.

Little Big Town accumulated its share of honors from trade organizations as well. On December 7th, 2006, the band received their first ever Grammy nominations with a pair of nods, one for Best Country Album for The Road To Here and the other for Best Country Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocal for 'Boondocks.' Also in 2006, the band received nominations from the Country Music Association (Vocal Group of the Year and Horizon), as well as the Academy of Country Music (Top New Vocal Duo or Group and Top Vocal Group) and the CMT Music Awards (Group/Duo Video of the Year).
