ATLANTA, GA (Top40 Charts/ Five Star Iris Official Website/ www.fivestariris.com) - 2007 is already becoming a big year for Five Star Iris (5SI). The band began the year on tour with Collective Soul and Josh Kelley, which led right into The Rock Boat VII, featuring those bands plus Sister Hazel and Better Than Ezra. 5SI's stunning performances on The Rock Boat brought the band a large number of new fans and quite a bit of critical praise. In addition, the band is gaining ground at commercial radio. Recently, the album track 'Is There Something I Can Do' was officially added to KENZ 101.9 in Salt Lake City. The staff at KENZ are so excited about the track it immediately went into power rotation, and 'Is There Something I Can Do' is now being heard 5-6 times a day!

To keep the momentum going, Five Star Iris is also out on the road in support of its first full-length CD. The new self-titled disc, produced by Grammy-winning producer Sylvia Massy Shivy (Tool, R.E.M., Tom Petty and Johnny Cash) and Rich Veltrop, includes two tracks, 'Anyway' and 'All I Am,' which were co-written with Collective Soul's Ed Roland. The tour kicks-off with a special show with Rocco Deluca and The Burden at The Tabernacle in Atlanta on February 3, rolls across the Southeast and continues through March 30, including stops in Indianapolis, IN and Austin, TX.

The band has also hooked up with Best Buy for retail support. When Scott Freeman, Best Buy's Territory Southeast Entertainment Manager, saw all that Five Star Iris had going on, he connected the band with Cowtown Digital, an independent distributor set up to get independent artists distributed in Best Buy stores. Freeman then offered the band initial pricing and positioning in stores throughout the Southeast. As Five Star Iris' touring base has expanded, Best Buy has followed the tour and kept the stores stocked with the self-titled disc, increasing the band's market presence.

Based in Atlanta, the members of Five Star Iris pride themselves on their ability to create music with enduring substance. 'My father used to say that communication makes friends and a lack of communication makes enemies,' recalls Alan Schaefer, Five Star Iris's lead singer and guitarist. 'It's an interesting concept from a songwriting perspective because people not knowing how to express themselves has caused everything from broken hearts to wars.' Two of the new album's tracks have already received international recognition and praise from their songwriting colleagues around the world. 'Let It All Out' was the winner of the 2005 UK Songwriting contest in the Rock/Indie category and 'Is There Something I Can Do' was a semi-finalist in the 2005 International Songwriting Competition in the Pop/Rock Category.

Last year the band was also busy, performing at the 2006 NARM Convention in Orlando, the 2006 British Virgin Island's Musicfest and Star94's 2006 Star Fest in Atlanta along with Train, Pink and Nickel Creek. The band has received commercial airplay across multiple radio formats in more than 40 U.S. markets and has supported acts such as Switchfoot, Hinder, and Fuel.

Be sure to check out Five Star Iris at a venue near you. Five Star Iris' contagious rock melodies and pop-inspired bridges will have you hooked!
