LOS ANGELES (Alanis Morissette Fans Forum) - Alanis Morissette once again hooked up with Francis Lawrence to shoot the clip for her next single, "Precious Illusions." The pair rolled tape in Los Angeles late last month, using a split-screen effect to document different points of view of a romantic relationship. Lawrence also directed Morissette's last video, for "Hands Clean." Much of the imagery is inspired by lyrics from "Precious Illusions," which finds Morissette considering both the fantasy and reality of romance. "As I evolve and as I grow older," she explained, "a lot of the things I thought to be truths when I was younger just really aren't, and that's disillusioning. And there is a grief and a loss of sorts that happens when I segue from one awareness to another. And that's what I was singing about on that song." "Precious Illusions" is the second single from Morissette's latest album, Under Rug Swept. Morissette completed her latest round of North American shows in support of the release on Sunday (June 9) in New York. Her next appearance is Saturday (June 15) at the Wango Tango festival at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
