WHAT: Experience the essence of world-class, Roots-Rock music with Chicano band Quetzal, currently on a major U.S. Tour in support of their new album, Sing The Real released nationwide on Vanguard Records, March 5, 2002.

Quetzal's sound coalesces Mexican indigenous roots with rock, folk and Afro-Caribbean influences. They've garnered rave reviews for their high-energy live shows and performed with high caliber artists, such as: Los Lobos, Taj Mahal, Los Van Van, Jaguares, Ozomatli, Mark Anthony, Jonathan Richman, Los Mu-equitos de Matanzas, iCubanismo! and more.

Listen out for Martha Gonz�lez (lead vocalist/conga player with Quetzal) who is a guest artist on the latest Los Lobos album, Good Morning Aztl�n (Mammoth Records). Quetzal will also release a music video this summer for the single track, "Jarocho Elegua" filmed by L.A.'s collective of artists and filmmakers Smokin' Mirrors. Quetzal is also currently in the 1st round of nominations for the 2002 Latin Grammy Awards in several categories.
