Sydney, AU. (Top40 Charts/ EMI MUSIC Australia) - Silverchair are launching their new album 'Young Modern' at an exclusive event in Sydney on March 30 which is brought to you by Motorola, in partnership with 3 mobile and Nova.

Silverchair will perform songs from their new album at the Sydney event and tickets can be won from March 1st via www.chairpage.com and through promotions with Motorola via www.artistofthemonth.com.au, 3 stores nationally and on Nova.

'Young Modern' is in-store March 31, following the release of the 'Straight Lines' single on March 10. 'We are really excited that the album is finally coming out this month,?said the band's bass player, Chris Joannou. 'We'll be playing some of the new songs for the first time at the launch gig so it should be fun?

'Straight Lines?was recently premiered on nearly every Australian radio network before being the No 1 most added song at Australian radio the following week. The epic rock track was the first brand new Silverchair song to hit the airwaves in almost five years and was one of the standouts from the group's recent acclaimed performances at the sold out Homebake and Pyramid festivals.

Silverchair have recently been in Canada and the US, putting the final touches to the mixing of 'Young Modern?and doing some showcase gigs in New York, Toronto and Los Angeles ?gigs which sold out in each city in minutes with very little advertising and no promotion.

Motorola is the official sponsor of the Australian Record Industry Association, supporting local Australian music artists across all genres of music, ensuring your music is number one.

Stephen Amiet, Marketing Manager, Motorola Australia explained, 'Silverchair is the Motorola Artist of the Month for March 2007, a program which supports Australia's hottest talent while giving Australians the chance to hang out with their favourite artists, win cool prizes and go to exclusive gigs, in this case to see Silverchair launch their new album in Sydney ?a gig that will definitely go down in history.

Annie Mackin, Head of Content at 3 mobile said: "On Planet 3, our customers have 24/7 access to a range of music and entertainment content, including thousands of tracks, real tones and special artist interviews. To celebrate this launch, customers will have exclusive access to Silverchair content, including audio tracks, real tones, mobisodes and more, plus the opportunity to see the band at their album launch, giving them a chance to be part of this exciting moment in Australian music.?

To win simply go to the official website at www.artistofthemonth.com.au, go into any 3 store for details, visit www.chairpage.com or listen to the official Motorola ARIA Chart countdown on Nova every Sunday from 3-6pm EST.

Partnering with Motorola and the MOTORAZR V3xx, 3 mobile are offering a range of Silverchair content, including the audio track and various real tones of 'Straight Lines'. In addition, '3' customers will be able to watch an interview with the band and there will be an exclusive mobisode available which can only be downloaded on 3.
