BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/Sire Records) - The hottest double bill of the spring kicks off May 1st with a coast-to-coast U.S. tour featuring Sire Records' Against Me! and Reprise Records' Mastodon. Both bands will be fresh off their own headlining tours and ready to rock their fans.

Progressive rock quartet Mastodon, who hail from Atlanta, GA, will be playing songs from their critically acclaimed current album "Blood Mountain," including the Number One Metal and Grammy-nominated single "Colony of Birchmen." The band was recently tapped as a "Discover & Download" artist on MTV.

"Blood Mountain," the group's third album and their first for Reprise Records, isn't just unconventional, it's surreal, progressive and unrepentantly heavy. Instead of writing songs for rock radio, Mastodon drew inspiration from within, combining their favorite musical styles, including thrash, doom, prog and psychedelic metal, to concoct something utterly original, undeniably devastating and irrefutably entrancing. In the end, Mastodon crafted an album that's musically sophisticated yet primal, a disc where every new passage, regardless of how slow or fast, leads to the culmination of an epic adventure.

Hailing from Gainesville, FL, punk-rock quartet Against Me! is comprised of Tom Gabel (vocals/guitar), James Bowman (guitar), Andrew Seward (bass), and Warren Oakes (drums). The band will preview songs from their upcoming Sire Records' debut, "New Wave." The album, produced by Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage), will be released this summer.

Known for Gabel's politically charged lyrics, roaring vocals, and fist-to-authority ethos, Against Me! has released three albums, including 2005's introspective, genre-defying "Searching For A Former Clarity," which detailed Gabel's Bush-era frustrations in songs like "From Her Lips To God's Ears." The New York Times recently referred to the band as a "revelation, with its hoarse choruses and antiwar verses and fist-pumping fans. Who knew that punk rock could sound so, y'know, punk?" Against Me!'s most recent offering is the incendiary live album "Americans Abroad!!! Against Me!!! Live In London!!!," which was recorded in March 2006 at the Mean Fiddler in London.

Tickets for the tour will be available through a pre-sale beginning March 7th at noon EST, through Front Gate Tickets https://mastodon-againstme-cursive.frontgatetickets.com/, and will go on sale to the public through Ticketmaster and the usual outlets the weekend of March 10th.
