NEW YORK, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Fueled By Ramen recording group
Paramore has announced a series of spring headlining dates, just in time to introduce fans to their much-anticipated new album. The acclaimed Tennessee-based quintet's as-yet-untitled sophomore effort - produced by
David Bendeth (Hawthorne Heights, Killswitch Engage, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus) - is slated for release on June 12th.
The tour is set to take off on April 20th at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with dates currently scheduled through early May (see attached itinerary). The shows will feature various support from The Almost and Paramore's Fueled By Ramen labelmates This Providence, with guests Love Arcade and Quietdrive. Tickets will go on sale March 9th and a special presale announcement will be made on the band's website, www.paramore.net.
The dates also see Paramore making their third consecutive appearance at the star-studded annual festival, The Bamboozle 2007, set for May 5th and 6th at East Rutherford, New Jersey's Meadowlands Sports Complex. The band will perform on the main stage on Day One of the always-happening extravaganza, joining a bill that includes My Chemical Romance, Hellogoodbye, and Paramore's 2006 tour companions, FBR's own Cute Is What We Aim For. Upon the spring trek's conclusion, Paramore will cross the Atlantic for an eagerly awaited European headline tour. Summer 2007 will then see the band rocking the main stage on this year's annual Vans Warped Tour.
Paramore was among the breakthrough bands of 2006, with their debut album, "ALL WE KNOW IS FALLING," reaping international acclaim and still-climbing sales. A nearly non-stop touring schedule earned the band a well-deserved reputation as a confident and charismatic live outfit. Fronted by the irrepressible presence of singer Hayley Williams, the band has blown away crowds from coast to coast with its explosively melodic sound and on-stage enthusiasm. Among the highlights: last fall's sold-out headlining tour of North America; show-stopping festival performances at Take Action, The Bamboozle 2006, and Vans Warped Tour 2005 and 2006; and tours supporting such like-minded outfits as Story of the Year and Simple Plan.
Released in late 2005, "ALL WE KNOW IS FALLING" was an instant critical favorite, drawing rapturous praise for its infectious power pop hooks and heartfelt lyricism. The album - which features the singles "Pressure" and "All We Know" - was hailed by The New York Times as one of the year's best, while Paramore was named to Alternative Press' influential "21 & Under" ranking of top bands under the age of 21.
In a cover feature last October, Kerrang! declared Paramore to be "Pop-Punk's Brightest Young Rebels." At year's end, they were voted "Best New Band" in the Kerrang! 2006 Readers Poll, with Williams coming in as the No 2 "Sexiest Female." Furthermore, NME named Paramore one of the 10 acts to watch in their "New Noise 2007" feature, proclaiming Williams as "emo's savior-in-waiting... ready to be crowned the empire's exalted queen."
Key to Paramore's worldwide popularity has been its significant online presence. The band has built a fervent fan following via its own paramore.net, as well as on such outlets as MySpace, where they've logged a stunning 7.5 million plays and counting.
