Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Columbia Nashville) - Ashley Monroe had a dream come true when her name was read in the Vocal Event of the Year category for her single "I Don't Want To" featuring superstar Ronnie Dunn - of Brooks & Dunn fame - at the Academy of Country Music Awards nomination press conference in Nashville this morning. The achievement marks her first award nomination. "WOW ...I'm SO excited to get this nomination ! I'm very proud of this song and so grateful to Ronnie Dunn for being kind enough to sing it with me. When it comes to a duet partner, it just doesn't get any better than that !" Ashley wrote the upbeat song with pop group Train lead singer Pat Monahan and hit Nashville writer Brett James. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her debut Columbia Nashville album, which is slated for a late summer release.
