LOS ANGELES (Doors Fans Website) - Surviving members of the Doors will regroup to perform a concert in September. Some of the biggest names in modern rock, including Nickelback and Stone Temple Pilots, will be involved but it's unclear what role they will play. The performance will take place as part of the Harley-Davidson Open Road Tour event at the California Motor Speedway outside Los Angeles during the weekend of September 6-8.
Further details were scheduled to be divulged at a press conference at the L.A. House Of Blues late Thursday (June 27).

A note posted recently on the Doors' official website (doors.com), hinted at such an event in the making: "Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek are collaborating in private rehearsal sessions and hinting at the possibility of working with some prominent vocalists in the not-too-distant future."

Guitarist Krieger, keyboardist Manzarek, and fellow member, drummer John Densmore, also reconvened in September 2000 for a taping of Storytellers. Among those standing in for the late famed frontman Jim Morrison on that night were Creed's Scott Stapp, STP's Scott Weiland, Train's Pat Monahan, the Cult's Ian Astbury, and Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell.
