NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dolly Parton Fans Website) - For many songwriters, the day after the tragedy of September 11 was a day for putting pen to paper, and Dolly Parton was one of those songwriters. "The day after September 11th, I was 'given' several songs," says Parton. "One was called 'Color Me America,' which I'll be performing at live shows. The next one that came to me is 'Hello God.' I realized just how fragile we really are, and how small life is and how everything can change in the blink of an eye."

"Hello God" is featured on Parton's upcoming Halos & Horns album, but "Color Me America" is not. According to Parton's spokesperson, the country legend has not yet recorded the latter song and has no immediate plans to do so.

Parton's Halos & Horns will be in stores on July 9.
