LOS ANGELES, CA (Top40 Charts/ New West Records) - The National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) recognized New West Records this year with the honor of Entertainment Software Supplier Of The Year-Small Division. The award, which is voted for by trading partners in the industry, was presented at the 49th annual convention in Chicago on May 2.

'We are very proud. This award is the result of a lot of hard work, dedication and effort from everyone in the company, especially Jay Woods, our Senior Vice President of Sales,' said Cameron Strang, New West Records President. 'We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Bob Morelli and everyone at RED, Danny Goldberg and the Ammal staff, Scott Weiland and Dana Dufine of Softdrive Records, and all the artists and managers we work with every day. All of them are instrumental in New West's success.'

Recently, New West has released critically acclaimed albums from Rickie Lee Jones and Kris Kristofferson, who himself was honored in April with the Johnny Cash Visionary Award from Country Music Television. Upcoming projects for the label include a new album from songsmith Ben Lee in September, as well as new releases from music legends Dwight Yoakam and Steve Earle this fall. New West continues to have success with the Live From Austin Texas DVDs and CDs, culled from the acclaimed PBS Television series 'Austin City Limits,' from artists such as Johnny Cash, Neko Case and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

New West Records LLC is a ten-year-old, wholly independent record label distributed in the United States by RED Distribution. With offices in Los Angeles and Austin, TX, the company is staffed by a unique blend of music and business specialists. In the past 12 months, the label has had 7 releases debut in the Billboard Top 200. With 114 releases to date, the roster includes Steve Earle, Old 97s, Ben Lee, Drive-By Truckers, Rickie Lee Jones, Dwight Yoakam, Delbert McClinton, John Hiatt, Kris Kristofferson, The Flatlanders, Jason Isbell, Tim Easton, Randall Bramblett, Stephen Bruton, The Drams and Buddy & Julie Miller. New West Records also has partnerships with industry veteran Danny Goldberg and his Ammal Records label, Scott Weiland's Softdrive Records label, and exclusively releases CDs and DVDs from the award-winning television program 'Austin City Limits.'
