BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Reprise Records) - Los Angeles metal band Static-X will join the 2007 Ozzfest, the annual hard rock extravaganza created by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. This year's 24-city tour, which features Ozzy Osbourne, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, and many others, launches July 12th in Seattle, with tickets being made available free to fans for the first time in the event's 12-year history.

Static-X are currently on tour in the U.S. in support of their fifth album, "Cannibal," which debuted at Number 36 on Billboard's Top 200 album chart, selling more than 30,000 its first week out. Released by Reprise Records on April 3rd, the album has now sold nearly 70,000 and remains in the Top 200, solidifying the band's place as one of the metal's pre-eminent artists.

"From the recording process to the way it turned out, the new album feels old-school for us," says frontman Wayne Static, who co-produced "Cannibal" with John Travis (Kid Rock). "I think it's the most metal record we've ever made, and it's arguably the heaviest record we've ever made. The last few albums found us going in a slightly different direction; this one makes no compromises."

"Cannibal's" first single, "Destroyer," is receiving airplay on more than two dozen stations including influential active rock outlets KUPD in Phoenix and WRIF in Detroit. The video for "Destroyer" was directed by The Butcher Brothers, whose feature film "The Hamiltons" was released last week on the DVD compilation "8 Horror Films to Die For" by Lions Gate Films.

In addition, a series of behind-the-scenes web clips on the making of "Cannibal" have been added to the band's MySpace page at www.myspace.com/staticx. A computer-based viral video game, featuring the band members as cannibals, has also been made available to fans at www.warnerbrosrecords.com/cannibal.

Static-X will be guests on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" on May 21st. They are currently in the middle of a 10-week U.S. tour, dubbed "The Cannibal Killers Tour," sponsored by ESP Guitar Co. Remaining dates are as follows:
