International Drum Legend, Ignacio Berroa Walks Home with '07 Award for 'Best International Jazz Album of the Year' for 'CODES'

Los Angeles, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Blue Note Records) - International drummer and composer Ignacio Berroa walked home with the 2007 Danish Music Award for "Best International Jazz Album of the Year" for his long-awaited debut album "CODES" (Blue Note Records). The 19th Annual Danish Music Awards celebrated the best of last year at the KB-Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark on Saturday, June 8th, 2007. "CODES" has swept the souls of listeners across the globe, with an all-star line up that includes, David Sanchez, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Edward Simon, John Patitucci and Giovanni Hidalgo.

Also having being able to collaborate with such talented musicians to mix the language of Afro-Cuban and Jazz music has been an amazing experience for me," says Ignacio Berroa. Berroa has been traveling extensively in '07 performing at various engagements worldwide to include the Heineken Jazz Festival in Puerto Rico, as well as many other engagements in the U.S. Ignacio Berroa will also be at the New Calgary Jazz Festival on June 21st, and Medicine Hat Jazz Festival on June 22nd in Canada.
