 New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ BMI) - BMI, the U.S. performing rights organization, is bringing its successful Latin music series back to S.O.B.'s nightclub on Wednesday, July 11. "BMI PRESENTS: Latin Music Showcase Series" will focus on Latin alternative music and will feature emerging Latino singer/songwriters Nick Howard, Leila Colom, Alejandra Alberti, Hummersqueal and Monte Negro. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:00 p.m. S.O.B.'s is located at 204 Varick Street; industry RSVP is required and admission is free. This event is by invitation only. Part of BMI's annual showcase series, "BMI PRESENTS: Latin Music Showcases" will also be held on September 10 ("Noche Bohemia," acoustic singer/songwriter) and November 19 ("Al Otro Lado Del Hip-Hop," Latin/urban). Each event will focus on a different genre of music in the Latino musical landscape and will be held at S.O.B.'s "Latin music is one of the greatest success stories in the music business," said Porfirio Pia, BMI's Director, Latin Music, New York. "Under the Latin music umbrella there are many different sub-genres like salsa, merengue, pop, cumbia, hip-hop, reggaeton, rock and alternative. This series is designed to showcase some of the most diverse songwriters and artists in New York from these genres. It's an opportunity for the industry and public to discover new talent and get hooked on some of the most engaging new artists releasing music today."
