Sydney, AU. (Top40 Charts/ EMI MUSIC Australia) - It seems that The Scare are the biggest Australian band that YOU have never heard of. Although completely broke and living in a foreign place(note: sunny Birmingham), they have still managed to survive and grow as both musicians and as people. On the eve of their first Australian release since the much acclaimed Vacuum Irony EP back in 2005, The Scare are back with the Bats!Bats!Bats! EP (released Saturday June 23) which is a mesmerizing 4 tracks of angular guitars, post punk rhythms and snarly attitude that will embarrass even the most psuedo-bohemian art school squatter.

The Scare will be back in Australia for one off shows in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to the UK in August for the Reading/Leeds festival in which they will be playing on the NME/RADIO 1 stage. Headlining this years festival are The Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Bloc Party, The Arcade Fire and Interpol. Festivals in the UK however are not new for The Scare, they were recently awarded 4k's in Kerrang for their inspired performance at the Download Festival alongside bands such as Megadeath and My Chemical Romance, played the Great Escape Festival where NME tagged them the "band to watch" and most recently played Wireless Festival sharing company with Daft Punk, The White Stripes and Queens Of The Stone Age among more.

If that's not enough love from the UK, their sold out London show last week was attended by the likes of Peaches & Pixie Geldoff, The Klaxons, new best friends The Gallows and the dudes from the excellent but now defunct Testicicles. Not only are the above people all fans of the band, but their newest fan Perry Farrell of Janes Addiction fame was so impressed by what he heard that he personally asked them to support his new outfit 'The Satelite Party' in London insisting that they were the ONLY band that could support and that he would re-imburse the band for any losses that they would make having to cancel their Birmingham show on the same night.

Now back in Australia for the release of the Bats!Bats!Bats! EP, The Scare only have 2 shows before jetting off again. The first being July 6th @ Candys Apartment in Sydney with supports coming from The Ripping Dylans & Faitaccompli and the second July 7th @ Click Click in Melbourne.

Bats!Bats!Bats! is currently on rotation at Triple J and is the first single from their forthcoming debut album "Chivalry" produced by Scott Horscroft (The Sleepy Jackson, The Presets) and released on September 23rd through OK! Relax/Below Par/Virgin.

The EP BATS! BATS! BATS! EP released June 23
The ALBUM CHIVALRY released September 23
